The Engineering Ops team is part of ExtraHop’s R&D organization and works side by side with engineers to develop and release innovative solutions for application and security monitoring. Team members are responsible for making the software engineering process efficient, providing operational support, and developing critical engineering services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and manage hardware and networking infrastructure for software engineering team.
• Support product development of new hardware and firmware.
• Ensure availability and responsiveness of services and infrastructure.
• Patch, monitor, and update operating systems, tools, hypervisors, and documentation.
• Add to existing internal knowledge base, including design documents, playbooks, network diagrams, and user-facing documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with the Linux ecosystem and enterprise hardware.
• Experience building and troubleshooting servers and hardware components
• Experience with one or more virtualization infrastructures, e.g. VMware, KVM, HyperV
• Knowledge of networking and application protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP, TLS/SSL.
• Ability to task-switch quickly in an interrupt-driven environment
• Security-oriented mindset in all development and administration choices

Desired Skills and Experience

• Windows administration, license management, and support.
• Experience with software repositories like git and CI/CD tools.
• Scripting skills on Unix/Linux platforms; python and bash preferred
• Cloud virtualization platform experience, such as AWS, Azure, or GCE/GKE
• Exposure to infrastructure and  configuration management tools such as  Jenkins, TerraForm, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
