As we work towards inventing the future of the town square, we need to enable people to discover and connect with Public Figures, Creators, Businesses and other public entities (e.g. publishers, organizations) they care about. When people can connect with the authentic stories of these public entities and interact with them in meaningful ways, it brings our communities closer and makes our town square more vibrant and culturally relevant. The Public Figures team has the hugely critical mission of giving every public figure a platform and the power to safely and meaningfully build their community. The team is working on some of the top priority projects for FB App.

This team builds technical infrastructure to enable public entities to share their authentic content and conversations on FB app. As a TPM on the Facebook App Public Figures team, you will drive many cross-functional initiatives to ensure the billions of people who use FB App on a daily basis have a platform to share and connect. Our team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. As peers to Engineering Managers and Product Managers, Public Figures TPMs heavily contribute to making FB App a vibrant town square.

Technical Program Manager - Public Figures Responsibilities

• Manage cross-functional infrastructure software engineering programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas.

• Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.

• Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.

• Perform risk management and change management on projects.

• Reduce surprises during execution and own progress reporting.

• Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.

• Interface with Engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope.

• Drive collaboration and motivation to reach challenging goals.

• Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in a Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, program/product management, or similar experience.

• Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.

• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.

• Communication skills and experience working with technical management teams.

• Organizational and coordination skills along with multi-tasking experience to get things done in a fast-paced environment.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills, exposure to large-scale systems and experience writing code/queries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.

• Experience working on building consumer facing software products.
