Training Manager - Construction
Pro.com is actively seeking an experienced Training Manager to drive the training program for the construction organization. Pro.com is a fast-growing venture-backed construction general contractor that is unique in the space because of its broad use of technology to service customer needs. We are currently building a team of veteran general contractors, project managers, software engineers, and support staff with the vision of improving every aspect of home services delivery; improving lives by improving homes.
With our rapid expansion in employee numbers and our rapid expansion in our technology, training needs are constantly growing and evolving. Specifically our need to effectively communicate company mission, process, goals, and technology to our far flung and highly mobile construction teams is paramount.
As a construction support and training manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the construction organization for both new hires and existing employees by:
- Providing process and tools training of new construction hires
- Providing continuing training and skills assessment on critical construction skills
- Developing training curriculum and education priorities for the construction team
- Providing real time tool support
- Providing a conduit to the product teams as feedback is gathered from the team
- Visiting job sites to measure training effectiveness and gather feedback on needs
- Facilitating other key training initiatives designed to help our team members thrive in their positions
Functions of a Training Manager
- Ensure smooth and effective functioning of the construction training operations and manage content delivery across the company, both in the classroom and in the field
- Develop a deep understanding of the tools and process to provide direct support in all situations
- Develop reporting to track progress and results of trainees and communicate to senior leadership and team managers
- Maintain presentations, curriculum, and teaching styles to promote a high level of understanding and adoption across many varied construction roles
- Understand key issues facing the construction team and be an active agent for change through training. Find practical solutions to new problems with little guidance from management
- Be an advocate for the construction team by improving training access, relevance and efficacy
- Assure each construction team member has an opportunity to be successful by providing comprehensive training and support for their role
- Bring passion and excitement to construction training and support
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience training in the trades or general construction industry
- Manage own work with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and sometimes changing priorities
- Firm grasp of construction concepts and industry operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Tech-savvy; ability to use Mac, Google Suite, and consider themselves a quick learner of systems & tools.

- Background in construction or home service trades
- eLearning experience
- Technical training experience
