The Vendor Management team is responsible for all outsourced user-facing activities at Stripe. Our vendors provide customer support, risk support, and generate sales across a variety of channels such as email, chat and phone.
As our user base and global footprint grows dramatically, we are looking for an experienced Vendor Manager who brings both strategic and operational abilities to advance our current internal capabilities.
The role of the Vendor Program Manager consists of two main categories:
- Manage the relationship and performance of vendor sites
- Lead and implement global cross-functional programs
Manage the relationship and performance of vendor sites
As a vendor manager you will either own a site, a particular region of the world (North America, the EU, or APAC) or a specific line of business. This will be a hands-on job, and willingness to work closely with the front-line teams at vendors is important.
Lead and implement global and cross-functional programs
You will lead cross-functional programs that help grow and improve the vendor operation. Examples of such programs are leading the vendor selection, contract negotiation, outsourcing of additional user-facing activities, and improvements to onboarding and training.
For the role of Vendor Manager, Stripe is looking for an effective and experienced operations leader who has experience with support or sales operations in their career, who preferably has directly managed teams themselves, and who can also handle the pace and ambiguity of building a fast-growing operation from the ground up.
You are likely to be a fit for this role if you have done some combination of:
- Managing operations teams directly
- Managing large cross functional and global projects
- Customer support and sales analytics
- Cross-functional project management
- Have launched new vendor sites
- Have owned a outsourcing budget
