What you’ll do:

As Associate Product Manager for OpticStudio, you will join a breakthrough and profitable company that is growing fast. The position will manage tactical and technical aspects OpticStudio, the optics and photonics industry’s leading tool for optical design. This role requires initiative, creativity, great business thinking and, above all, an unwavering ownership of the product.

What you’ll do:

  • This role will manage quarterly releases of Zemax OpticStudio. The product manager will:
  • Engage with our engineering and support teams to ensure release documentation, tech notes and knowledge base articles aligns with the product.
  • Manage the roadmap on a tactical level and contribute to the team by engaging on strategic direction of the OpticStudio product.
  • Conduct market research and maintain an up to date view on products in the competitive space of OpticStudio.

Success will look like:

In the first year, a high performer will have accomplished the following:

  • Release at least two new versions of OpticStudio along with required marketing collateral and positioning
  • Implement new features that support top company priorities
  • Prioritize the product backlog by incorporating the latest customer feedback and market trends
  • Improve processes for feature definition, feature development, and feature release to prevent scope creep, reduce bugs, and create happier customers

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree in Optics, Physics, or related field.
  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex projects – ideally, but not limited to, software projects
  • Business-minded perspectives that help drive market adoption
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude toward responding to change
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude toward responding to change
  • The ability to take on extensive responsibility and excel in a small team environment

And you get bonus points for the following:

  • Familiarity with OpticStudio or previous versions of Zemax optical design software
  • Familiarity with software development processes
  • MBA or business experience
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design
