As part of this mission, the Chewy Health Services team is hiring a Director, Product – Connected Care in our Bellevue, WA offices to help us build a suite of services that enable a seamless omnichannel customer experience for pet parents to engage with their vet across the full lifecycle of care.   This position is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a team that seeks to reinvent how care is delivered in the pet health industry, and work in one of the most dynamic and innovative teams at Chewy.    

This leader will own defining, implementing, and managing the product strategy, feature set & multi-year roadmap for how customers engage with their veterinary clinics across all channels and touchpoints, including how they schedule appointments, interact with veterinarians and staff in the clinics, pay for services and get the medications and post-appointment support they need to manage their pet’s health after their visit. The Director, Product – Connected Care will be a team leader and mentor in a high-paced environment demanding clear and effective leadership. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmaps for the Connected Care experience
  • Be the expert in the needs and value drivers of pet parents seeking care for their pets, as well as the needs and value drivers of the veterinarian and their staff who work in veterinary clinics; Triangulate those insights, with product usage data, industry/consumer trends and competitive insights to build, optimize and scale a differentiated connected care experience for pet parents.
  • Guide the development of product and solution requirements, working backward from the customer.
  • Lead cross-functionally with teams of UX designers, engineers, TPMs, analysts, and marketers to deliver projects on your roadmap while cultivating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and upbeat culture that brings out the best in people
  • Identify, size, and shape new opportunities to solve problems for vets and pet parents, and influence investment choices that will provide long-term innovation in the space
  • Lead and develop a world-class team of product leaders and product managers; Partner with recruiting to drive to identify and close top talent
  • Communicate product strategy and status to key stakeholders across Chewy

What You’ll Need:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a similar discipline
  • 10+ years of overall experience; 8+ years in product management in an engineering or business capacity
  • 4+ years leading product or engineering teams; experience leading leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver “V1” products or services from scratch, then iterate, optimize and scale them quickly
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling omni-channel user experiences in a retail, healthcare, hospitality or consumer services business.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile technologies and platforms; demonstrated success in launching and managing “mobile first” experiences   
  • Track record of building high-performing product or engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining both managers and individuals
  • Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering, identifying and mitigating development and implementation risks, problem-solving, and communicating recommendations
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
  • Demonstrated success in building a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation
  • Inspirational leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit   

Bonus if you:

  • Experience with launching new technology products/services to veterinary clinics OR medical practices
  • Strong understanding of the overall pet care industry and recent trends
  • In-depth experience and understanding of the veterinary profession in the US

Compensation & Benefits

 

The salary range for this position is $156,000-$288,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, an annual bonus potential, new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
