The Enterprise Platform Product Specialists are deep technical experts on the Databricks Lakehouse platform who work closely with Product and Engineering to set the direction for Enterprise features, Cloud and global region support, our multi-cloud strategy and security, networking and cloud infrastructure support. As an Enterprise Platform Product Specialist you will be the bridge between the Databricks Product and Engineering team and the global technical customer-facing Field Engineering team. You will improve customer success through direct engagement and scale your expertise globally.

This role is an essential team within Databricks Field Engineering. Databricks Field Engineering works with our customers to grow adoption, win technical validations and advise customers on Databricks Lakehouse best practices. Enterprise Platform Specialists own the enablement and escalations within the Field Engineering team to get Databricks approved as a reference platform in the customers' data and cloud reference architecture. You will report to the Global Product Specialists Leader.

The impact you will have:

  • Deliver thought leadership in the form of blogs, webinars, how to guides, best practices and technical know-how to the global technical community.
  • Provide a strong, informed, and data-driven perspective in conversations with the Product and Engineering teams to define our product strategy and priorities.
  • Be the level three point of escalation on the toughest technical challenges in the field that customers face to drive customer success.

What we look for:

  • Cloud Networking Expertise: Network Peering, Cross Network Accounts, Private Link, compute, privacy services, and data services on all three major clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Compute)
  • Advise customer cloud and security administrators: Prepare Databricks stakeholders for internal conversations and communicate directly, including anticipating blockers and address them before they become an issue
  • Configure Databricks workspace(s): Init Scripts, Cluster Policies, User Administration, Audit, and Usage Logging along with notebooks and jobs to test the deployment
  • Cross-Cloud Expertise: Help customers build a multi-cloud analytics ecosystem with Databricks at the center and provide solutions for customers looking for disaster recovery, fault tolerance and backup
  • Compliance and sovereignty expertise: Implement Databricks in customers with compliance requirements such as HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO27001, GDPR, CCPA
  • Certification or demonstrated competence in the major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Demonstrate competence in the Databricks platform including knowledge of Python, Scala, SQL and R
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
