Group Product Manager, New Frontiers - Location Flexible
Role Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity to build innovative new products at Dropbox in a startup-like environment.
As a Group Product Manager in the New Frontiers group, you will be responsible for setting direction and driving major strategic and product initiatives that explore and validate new markets for Dropbox. You will have significant strategic impact as you collaborate with the VP of Strategy and New Frontiers to influence the development of Dropbox’s next multi-million dollar ventures, particularly around distributed work and virtual collaboration. You will engage with nimble teams to build awesome prototypes that have potential to graduate into highly impactful products. You will collaborate with world class Designers, Engineers, User Researchers, Analysts, Product Managers, and leaders from across functions to drive innovation across the company.
Responsibilities
- You will engage with senior leaders in the organization and then set direction for the Product Frontiers team to turn Dropbox’s market insights into a prioritized roadmap of exploratory initiatives
- You will be hands-on with new product development within New Frontiers (working alongside designers and engineers) to define customers, gather use cases, build functionality, drive test adoption, and synthesize meaningful insights
- You will advance Dropbox’s aggregate product strategy by ensuring that learnings and outcomes from the team’s roadmap continually validate (or invalidate) broadly held beliefs
- You will make difficult decisions to push or prune project bets across a wide portfolio, based on shifts in your team’s priorities due to evolving strategy
- You will coach, manage, and lead a diverse and senior team of Product Managers that work on complementary early-stage bets that together represent the future of Dropbox
- You will be a guiding light and stabilizing force for the team at a time of great excitement, broad change, and high ambiguity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management and people management experience, ideally at a fast-paced startup environment
- Demonstrated ability to successfully design and deploy 0-to-1 features and functionality, and use rapid experimentation and validation to find product-market fit
- Highly proficient with data analysis and leveraging qualitative and quantitative information to set direction
- User-centric approach embodied in past work that meaningfully translate customer problems into solutions
- Strong influence and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to create clarity and drive focus in complex and dynamic contexts
- Demonstrated ability to drive design work alongside UX research
- Demonstrated strong project management and execution in changing business environment
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with senior engineers
