We are looking for an inspired, self-directed and results oriented Product Lead who can embrace this vision, to direct product development and ensure our platform driven product serves the needs of the learning community. As the product and community grows, the role will build and coordinate an international team of stakeholders. The successful candidate be able to anticipate the needs of the community along with demonstrated ability to problem-solve and create opportunities throughout the product development life cycle.

What you'll do:

  • Develop product vision and strategy by working backwards from the customer and defining / driving overall product strategies and roadmaps. Execute with design and engineering teams to take the product vision from research to roadmap to shipping
  • Act as the key product evangelist and guide for external users as well as internal teams. Set direction for community member experience from awareness, to consideration, to adoption
  • Drive prioritization across multiple development team and manage communication across internal stakeholders
  • Understand user needs deeply, building customer empathy through online channels, one-on-one interviews, and shadowing exercises to observe, listen, and learn how people use and experience the product
  • Own product lifecycle from conception through to delivery, including specification, design, launch, and enhancement phases. Define functional specifications and make feature, resource, and timeline tradeoff decisions. Produce and review product requirement documents (PRD)
  • Define and develop product requirements, features and roadmaps; analyze community member use cases
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy and product roll out efforts with marketing, sales and other client facing teams to create collateral including white papers, case studies, demos, training material, etc.
  • Be obsessed with metrics from engagement through retention and leverage these insights in Collective product goals
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, design and other relevant teams to ensure successful product definition and delivery
  • Incorporate input from community members, partners and in-house teams to improve platform and community member experience

Who we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of software/digital product management experience
  • Experience in product lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with Agile framework and methodologies such as User Centered Design, Lean Startup, XP, Scrum or Kanban
  • Demonstrated ability to set a vision, inspire and lead (directly or by influence) multidisciplinary teams comprising product managers, engineers, writers, QA, designers
  • Experience with social media, marketplace, profile-based platforms is preferred
