You will have your hands in nearly new products launching at Groupon, and work closely with peer product leads to drive features to improve engagement and conversion across our various businesses.

We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact. We're curious, fun, a little intense, and kind of obsessed with helping local businesses thrive. Does that sound like a compelling place to work?

You’ll spend your time on the following:

  • Lead product direction, from conception to design, specification, and implementation, aligned with company-wide strategic vision and priorities
.

  • Partner directly with engineering leads for algorithm development and search systems to brainstorm and prioritize features and product enhancements
.

  • Work with product management and engineering/algorithm teams to influence the theory and design of new features, and participate in developing the final feature design
.

  • Develop and obsess over consumer-facing metrics and KPIs, and manage the product towards improving each of these metrics
.

  • Mine huge volumes of Groupon-generated and external data to develop hypotheses or working theories for new deal ranking and personalization features or experiments
.

  • Study the interaction with other parts of the business (sales, deal inventory, customer service, etc) to deeply understand the downstream impact of relevance
.

  • Own relationship and communication with sales leaders, executive management, marketing, revenue management, and other product partners throughout Groupon
.

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience, with at least 2 years of product management experience preferably at a rapidly growing e-commerce company
.

  • A rigorous course of undergraduate study in computer science, engineering, business, economics, or mathematics; MBA or other related master’s degree highly preferred

  • Experience working with product and engineering teams, with working knowledge of SDLC and relevant technology/tools, with a track record of shipping great product
.

  • Rock solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to both executive management and engineering
.

  • Excited by working with data, systematically testing hypotheses, and making objective decisions based on quantitative A/B test results and deductive reasoning
.

  • Innate ability to coalesce quantitative data, qualitative feedback, and strategic direction from different sources to translate into high-impact features our users will love
.

  • An interest in solving new and unique challenges, and never satisfied with unsubstantiated or superficial conclusions and statements.

  • The confidence to challenge the status quo in an ever-evolving business, and the ability to influence others with strong opinions to adopt superior alternatives to the norm
.

  • Must have solid analytical skills with some fluency in SQL.
