Product Analytics Manager, Search & Discovery

Modernizing our Search Platform is a high-visibility and accelerated capability in the company. To facilitate this, we are seeking out a highly motivated individual to partner with the Search and Discovery team and help build scalable products that optimize multiple objective functions catering to the traveler, travel partners, and Expedia Group. This person would be the specialist on search data, search experimentation, and will provide meaningful insights to improve the search experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Define, drive, and own the analysis, measurement, and evaluation of product features, A/B tests, and performance metrics across the Search Platform, which is used by different brands within Expedia Group.

  • Identify and gain expertise on new and existing data sources that can be used to build a holistic view of the performance of Search Product features as they are deployed universally across Expedia Group.

  • Lead efforts on A/B testing, statistical testing, experimentation design, and the meticulous application of the scientific method to ensure highly informed and objective business decisions.

  • Exploratory analysis to find opportunities to reduce friction in Search experience and effectively improve Search performance metrics.

  • Challenge business owners to think differently about how they digest and use the information to make informed decisions.

  • Work with Product, Technical, and UX Teams across brands to drive desired outcomes.

  • Collaborate across all Product Analytics teams on the development of common Group-wide data assets, tools and methodologies.


Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of data analytics experience in a business context. Prior experience of working with multiple stakeholders preferred.

  • Excellent logical thinking, a very strong background in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, engineering, operations research, data science or similar, and a scientific approach to problem-solving (i.e. ability to ask the right questions and design appropriate analyses to answer them).

  • You have that curious streak - want to investigate that data point, find that insight, understand how that works, and find the root cause behind abnormal patterns in our data.

  • Expertise in multivariate hypothesis testing, conversion rate optimization, and statistical experimentation techniques. Expertise in web analytics using tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.

  • Deep experience with large datasets and proficient in SQL and another programming language (e.g. R, Python, PySpark, Scala).

  • Expertise of visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI).

  • Understanding of advanced statistical/predictive modeling, operational research, and optimization techniques highly preferred.

  • Ability to communicate sophisticated concepts concisely and clearly to senior-level executives. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with ambiguity. A sharp focus on results and strong attention to detail.
