Product Education Specialists are on the Education team, whose mission is to amplify each Stripe’s growth, agility, and leadership within a rigorous, collaborative environment.

Stripe offers products that delight and inspire our users. To do that effectively, all Stripes, from those who sell and support users around our products, to those who build our products, need to understand and appreciate our products and our users’ experiences with them. As Stripe grows, we face three opportunities around product education:

  1. Product Education’s users (both Stripes and vendors) become more segmented and have more diverse and specific needs
  2. The network of product experts within Stripe increases, and there are more SMEs to support and leverage
  3. Our products and the payments landscape, especially as we expand globally, become more and more complex

Product Education Specialists are the interface between those who need product education, and those who have product knowledge to share (our internal product experts or subject matter experts). They are closely aligned with their users’ needs, and use multiple data-gathering methods to measure those needs. They make it easy and fulfilling for SMEs to share their expertise; in partnership with the SMEs, Product Education Specialists create enjoyable, enriching, and rigorous learning opportunities.

You will:

  • Identify key stakeholders from the teams who rely on product education, and build strong relationships and seamless feedback loops to stay close to their needs
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with product experts
  • Use data from a variety of sources to identify product education needs
  • Procure the resources needed to create and maintain exceptional product education materials
  • Collaborate (as project manager, or in whatever role best serves the need) with product experts and other stakeholders to deliver solutions
  • Measure the impact of solutions, and iterate, iterate, iterate
  • Constantly prioritize between what’s needed now and the longer-term vision
  • Collaborate with other Product Education Specialists to drive strategic initiatives to improve product education and its outcomes
  • Contribute to Education team initiatives, and to Stripes’ education needs, in general

You should have:

  • 7-10+ years working experience in a combination of learning design / education, project management, and analytical/technical roles
  • A focus on users and what they need from a learning perspective
  • Strong collaboration, influence, and consultation skills
  • The ability to act within an array of educational roles (from consultation to learning design to evaluation)
  • A high threshold for navigating ambiguity and building effective solutions that scale
  • Aptitude for learning technical products and concepts quickly

Nice to haves:

  • An advanced degree or certificate in an educational arena
  • Experience working with software product teams
