Our platform includes rich datasets on both public and private companies along with deep granularity on the financial networks and capital flows that fund them. We solve complex data integration, data cleansing, and data quality management problems for our clients.

PitchBook is looking for a Product Manager to join our Data Technology team. This role will consult with our Product Managers to understand upcoming features and identify opportunities to apply machine learning and other analytical techniques to improve the client experience – this includes services for personalization, recommendations, similarity and clustering, categorization, and prediction. This role will also be responsible for assessing potential ML-based services for business value and feasibility while working with our data science teams to create clarity and increased delivery.

If you have proven experience shipping great products and are passionate about machine learning, we'd love to hear from you.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Build customer empathy through in-depth client research
  • Gather requirements and create detailed functional specifications to deliver strong business value
  • Understand and lead others in defining the full flow of data problems starting with discovery/collection/cleaning and ending with production-ready models that meet success criteria on real-world data
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and educate on when and how ML solutions can help address business needs
  • Prioritize, track, coordinate and communicate on projects, issues and tasks with internal stakeholders including our in-house Research team, PitchBook Labs team, Product team, and Leadership from various other teams
  • Work closely with UX and engineering to execute and deliver on project goals
  • Build out and execute against the product roadmap.
  • Oversee and report on the adoption of new features and tools across products and departments
  • Continuously improve our external and internal deliverables, and operational processes
  • Collaborate with all internal and external partners to facilitate projects

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar experience with strong academic performance in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Finance or Accounting
  • Bias for action. Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do what is necessary to meet team goals
  • 1-4 years of product management experience. Experience defining and shipping digital solutions
  • Experience gathering customer-centric requirements and writing functional design specification documents
  • Experience researching, testing, and writing specifications for RESTful services
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of SQL and Python
  • Preferred: Previous experience building or working with machine learning services and/or products
