The Expedia Group Media Solutions’ product management team sets the vision for our growing suite of products. We are responsible for guiding multidisciplinary teams toward a common goal: shipping timely, high-quality, performant products and features that align with market demand and complement the travel shopping experience. As advocates for both MeSo’s B2B advertiser clients and shoppers to Expedia Group's global family of websites, the best product managers balance diverse perspectives, build creative products at scale, and simplify complex processes.

The Product Manager, Platform & Tools is a fast-paced role responsible for shaping the overall strategy, business cases, and products that make it easier for MeSo’s internal business partners – media sellers and planners, yield managers, and ad operations – to onboard clients, manage inventory, deploy media campaigns, access real-time pricing capabilities, and more. Its charter includes developing the vision, roadmap and operational plans for back-end tool integrations and architecture across MeSo’s various internal and external systems.

We seek a forward-thinking product manager to build out a suite of campaign management and workflow tools, both internally and externally facing, that enable advertisers to craft and launch campaigns that meet and exceed their business goals. You will work closely with sales, engineering, product, ad operations and client services teams to strike the right balance between providing feature improvements for advertisers and ensuring those enhancements are accessible to sellers and media planning teams. You'll bring your analytical abilities, business insight and raw smarts to tackle complex problems and exercise exemplary judgment. You will lead requirements design, evaluate existing implementations and help build shared tools and processes that scale. And ultimately, you will meet with demonstrable success by navigating through a high level of ambiguity and having the confidence to forge your own solution paths.

In addition, this product management role will:

  • Create the roadmap for media planning and ad operations tools for MeSo’s Display ad business
  • Lead back-end integrations with our various internal and external partners and consult on architecture across all systems
  • Create and lead the build-out, integrations and data migrations required to onboard MeSo’s new external Display order management system (OMS)
  • Streamline the Display product catalog and optimize the media planning workflow in the OMS
  • Collaborate with the Yield team to ensure the OMS’ rate card and pricing functionality supports MeSo’s business requirements
  • Create the frameworks and execute pricing engines, priority modeling and inventory check tools
  • Create and work the OMS vendor to launch forecasting support for expected impression viewability
  • Influence the OMS vendor roadmap to prioritize features that provide MeSo revenue-driving enhancements
  • Regularly review business rules and policy exceptions with business partners and modify or unblock if needed
  • Align objectives with the Ad Operations team and prioritize projects that create efficiency and increase client satisfaction
  • Maintain a command of the underlying technology, product taxonomy, metadata and ad tech partnerships that power the MeSo Display ad platform

Skills and Requirements:

  • 5+ years meaningful work experience in digital marketing, online advertising, and/or product development
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong eye for detail, with a natural tendency to dig deep and thoroughly understand an issue before recommending a solution
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to use numbers and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes; experience with financial modeling and statistics is an advantage
  • Past success working across all levels and functions with multiple internal teams and external partners that required clear communication, evangelism and compromise
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices, particularly sprint planning and assessment
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and/or third-party technology solution providers and products is a plus
