About the Role: 
PitchBook is looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Deal Execution team and lead the effort to build out the products needed by our Investment Bank, Private Equity and Corporate client segments. You will champion client needs, lead cross-functionally and also across business units to deliver on a vision and strategy to make PitchBook the platform for Deal Makers. You will create insightful search and analytics experiences that enable users to search and identify trends across content types including but not limited to news, transcripts, filings and equity research.
PitchBook's Product team is responsible for building and maintaining our award-winning PitchBook Platform and the product suite built on top of it including PitchBook Desktop, PitchBook Mobile, Excel and Chrome plugins, Public API and Data Feeds.
At the heart of every PitchBook product is our data. Our platform includes rich datasets on both public and private markets along with deep granularity on the financial networks and capital flows that fund them. As a Product Manager, you will be an expert on how clients research companies and industries, including the content and tools needed to complete their workflows. You will work collaboratively with a talented team of designers and developers to influence and execute on the research experience roadmap. You will identify unstructured content sources our clients need to leverage within their company and industry research process. You will build validated solutions to surface insights our clients need to make investment decisions.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and execute on the research experience to deliver tools and experiences for Deal Makers
  • Be a subject matter expert for our product area(s) and a key resource for team members for client workflows: Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital and Corporates
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and project teams to execute on key initiatives
  • Champion and influence business goals and client needs in discussions with business and engineering partners
  • Communicate updates and opportunities with key stakeholders and executives on a regular basis
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Continuously improve our external and internal deliverables and operational processes

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Understanding and expertise of the public markets, including equity research, transcripts, news and filings
  • 2+ years of experience leading the design and development of customer-facing products
  • Expertise in leveraging user feedback, usage data and other available resources to inform roadmap decisions
  • Superior project management skills and the ability to drive multiple, complex projects to completion
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with engineering, managing backlogs, making trade-off decisions, defining technical requirements, establishing success criteria and tracking impact
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability to present complex ideas to stakeholders of any level

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Chartered Financial Analyst or candidate preferred
  • 1+ years experience as an equity analyst or portfolio manager
  • Experience with rule-based and machine learning services of unstructured text
