Amazon’s Engineering Excellence (EE) group drives adoption of new technical and leadership skills into Amazon’s engineering community. We provide Amazon engineers and leaders the information they need to build products and services that delight customers. This role is an opportunity to join a fast- paced global team driven to deliver innovative learner-centered content for engineers at Amazon.

As a Product Manager - Technical on the EE Learn AWS program, you will translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete product requirements. You have a strong track record of owning, defining and delivering high-quality technical products from initial vision to launch. You have strong customer empathy, adept at synthesizing and prioritizing feature requests into simple and user friendly solutions, and comfortable making decisions despite ambiguity. You will work closely with our Curriculum Program Manager, Technical Writer, and Product Manager to identify and measure impact-driven goals. You will also work with product and service teams in Consumer and AWS, including the Plus team and AWS Training & Certification.

Key Responsibilities:
· Developing product vision and strategy by working backward from the customer and defining / driving overall product strategies and roadmaps. Communicating this vision to senior leadership for buy-in.
· Defining customer experience for self-service products and features.
· Developing product requirements and partnering with team members and other stakeholders to execute on product vision.
· Define the success metrics for features or services and track performance. Utilize metrics to deep-dive issues and uncover business- and customer-driven trends and patterns.
· Defining and executing project plans, assembling resources, and developing processes associated with product rollout and ongoing support.
· Managing products through initial launch and follow-on releases, identifying dependencies and clearing blockers.
· Writing business cases and produce financial models for key strategic projects.
· Reporting on our progress in weekly and monthly business reviews.
· Owning all aspects of the annual planning process for the product.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 4+ years of product management experience in a related industry
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
· Experience identifying business opportunities, building a product strategy, and influencing deliver against a multi-year roadmap
· Understands core technologies utilized in their product domain and is fluent in pros and cons of technical alternatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
· Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, product, and project management counterparts to deliver products/services
· Cloud management experience
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Drives alignment and coherent product feature, business, and evangelism strategies
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong leadership, project planning and execution skills
· Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
