The Product Operations team sits within the Chef Product and Engineering organization. We work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure there is full alignment to Chef’s strategy, goals and milestones. We help define program scope, create integrated plans, identify and track dependencies and risks. We then mobilize teams and create a structure for all team members to be successful throughout the SDLC process. By setting an operational cadence for the team we enable cross-team collaboration, timely communication of Chef organizational updates and program portfolio status. Through establishing metrics and standardizing processes we enable the Product and Engineering organization to function as a high performing, efficient team.

Who You Are:

  • You love organization and structure! You are able to break apart complex problems into logical components and marshal resources to define innovative solutions and structured plans.
  • You are results-oriented and have a proven track record of effective program management from project initiation through delivery with minimal supervision.
  • You proactively identify and anticipate risks and issues and create mitigation and resolution plans.
  • You use your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build trusting relationships.
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate ideas in both written and spoken form to executive staff, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience.
  • You have strong consulting, facilitation, negotiation and planning skills including the ability to workshop and translate strategy into actionable and resourced plans.
  • You are proficient in business process optimization, defining success metrics and implementing Program Management best practices and standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated 10+ years of program management experience in a high-tech environment or project management certification.
  • Proven track record of building successful relationships with peers, leadership, customers and partners.
  • Experience with various project planning tools such as Aha!, JIRA/Confluence, Google, Microsoft Project and SmartSheets.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
  • Experience in the high-tech and / or software industry.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hands-on technical experience in infrastructure, security and/or DevOps is a strong plus.
  • Change management experience.
