Barn2Door is where Farm to Table meets technology. A Seattle-based vertical SaaS startup, Barn2Door helps Farmers manage direct sales to local buyers through web, social and mobile. Now the most prolific software servicing Farmers, our goal is to make food convenient to buy from local Farmers.

At Barn2Door, you’ll play a critical role in building the Product department, report to the CEO and help us become the next category-defining Company.

Overview
Barn2Door is a product-led company, building an eCommerce platform specific to the needs of Farmers who service a variety of customers with a suite of fulfillment options across many categories. The Product Team is where we drive differentiation and distance between us and the competition, and ensure customer adoption and success. Our platform helps Farmers manage payments, save time, engage customers and seamlessly manage their business.

We are looking for a reliable, tenacious mid-level Product Manager who will organize product development and ensure high ROI. Your duties will include translating ideas, requests, research, issues and data into requirements documentation for our engineering team(s). According to Barn2door's business priorities and road map, you will facilitate product development from start to finish from ideation to execution and communication. You will manage a backlog and live in JIRA, engage our customers (Farmers), evaluate platform experience and user flows, all to optimize our engineering resources, time and market acquisition.

You will become an expert on Barn2Door’s product functionality, and work directly with all Barn2Door teams, our customers and the CEO. You should be a natural manager, and eager to become fluent in local food and agriculture. You will be accountable for sprint cycles, product deadlines, platform adoption, transaction volume and customer satisfaction.

You Are:

  • Tech-savvy - have used online tools / solutions to manage workflow and / or productivity (and you can type!)
  • Process oriented - able to follow and track protocol, a superstar at following up
  • Customer service driven, with an ability to resolve customer issues with grace
  • You love learning technology; you handle details accurately and in a timely manner
  • Your communication skills are top-notch, both over the phone and in email
  • Enthusiastic to train users to use an online platform to manage their Farm business
  • Experience with or passion for sustainable food, farms and restaurants
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment

You Have:

  • 2 - 5 years experience of working on Product Manager or other relevant position
  • Have worked closely with engineers, product, UX/UI and product marketing
  • A stellar work ethic, attention to detail and can-do attitude
  • Desire to work in a startup environment, willing to put in the time for sake of customers, company and your career growth
  • Preferred experience: SaaS, B2C, ecommerce, mobile, payments, CRM, marketplace, logistics, integrations, inventory
  • Bonus: food or farming domain knowledge
  • Background in software development and program management is preferred
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Significant experience in product lifecycle management and working in Agile environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with creative approach

You Will:

  • Retrieve and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products
  • Build and implement product strategies consistent with company vision
  • Collaborate with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps
  • Cut through ambiguity to derive a clearly defined set of success criteria to keep engineering unblocked
  • Supervise and support engineering, product and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Prepare and review product requirements documents (PRD)
  • Organize product releases properly and ensure compliance with the schedule
  • Prepare recommendations to track product use and impact on end users
  • Clearly articulate Barn2Door's value proposition, capabilities, new features
  • Clearly articulate online commerce best practices, consumer buying behavior and give Farmers tactical solutions (provided) to achieve their sales and time-saving goals
  • Prepare recommendations to track product use and impact on end users
  • Manage process to complete the feedback loop (progress, timing, info) for ongoing features and requests, back to team and customers

Location

Located in Fremont on North Lake Union with unobstructed views of downtown Seattle. The office is on the Burke Gilman Trail, near Fremont Brewery.
