JOB SUMMARY


Code.org is looking for a VP or Director of Product Management who is excited to craft the platform delivering the most popular K-12 Computer Science curriculum to students and educators around the world and to help expand participation of students who are traditionally underrepresented in CS. You will drive a suite of products that are used by students, teachers, partner organizations, policy makers, parents, and administrators. Products at Code.org include our overall learning platform and teacher dashboard, a suite of programming tools (App Lab, Game Lab, Sprite Lab), Hour of Code activities, teacher and administrator tools, and much more. You will be leading a team of talented Product Managers, working closely with the engineering, education, data, creative, support, and marketing teams to develop the strategy and processes to deliver on experiences that delight and inspire students and educators.


IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL


•Deeply understand the company strategy and cross-organizational priorities

•Leverage this knowledge to develop the product vision in close partnership with the Chief Product Officer and CEO

•Be part of the leadership team, influencing organizational strategy and operational decisions 

•Coach, support and foster the career growth of a team of Product Managers

•Cultivate an inclusive and supportive team culture that fosters strong collaboration and execution 

•Create a product roadmap to deliver on the product vision, creating user experiences that delight K-12 educators, students and our community

•Partner with Code.org engineering, curriculum, and other teams to develop team processes and execution of the roadmap

•Coordinate and ensure alignment with partner teams

•Connect with external organizations and find opportunities for beneficial partnerships


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

•Experience managing a team of product managers (5+ years)

•At least 8 years of experience as a product manager building web-centric consumer products/services

•Taken computer science courses or have experience with programming

•Designed user experience for non-tech savvy consumers

•Experience using data to make decisions

•Strong technical background

•Strong communication and collaboration skills

•Experience building and maintaining partnerships with other teams/organizations


Additional skills and interests that would help you be successful in this role:

•Teaching or volunteering experience in K-12 classrooms

•Experience using programming tools designed for students

•Experience building programs or products for students and/or underrepresented communities in your field


In addition, you must:

•Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

•Pass a pre-employment background check
