Role Description
The Category Manager is responsible for sourcing and managing our farm suppliers to offer an exciting protein selection and quality products, both seasonally and year-round. This is a unique opportunity to own high-growth protein categories while representing Crowd Cow to our vendors. We are looking for a results-driven leader motivated by driving growth. Core Responsibilities
  • Category management of core and new proteins (i.e. pork, chicken, sustainable seafood)
  • Owns category strategy, revenue, and margin goals 
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Source, onboard and launch new producers / vendors
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and promotions 
  • Build supply forecasts and manage categories to ensure in-stock
  • Margin and cost analysis to drive profitability
  • Work with Marketing to enable successful ranch launches and promotions
  • Work with Operations to manage product quality, deliveries and logistics
  • Ensure compliance with Crowd Cow standards and ranch’s stated practices 

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience driving new business growth in dynamic environments
  • Category management and profitability analysis
  • Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience 
  • Strong sense of ownership; desire to build something great
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to make solid decisions with imperfect information
  • Bias for action
  • Flexibility, adaptability to change
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree
  • Experience in the meat/food industry is a plus but not required
Role is located at Crowd Cow headquarters in downtown Seattle. Our office environment is casual.
