The Team You’ll Work With

The Pre-Close team at Carta is developing a customized advisory product for emerging fund managers and working to further establish processes to support this new offering. The lean team is expanding systems and determining market-signal based on early momentum. Our three main pillars of competency within the Pre-Close team at Carta are innovation, client management, and VC industry acumen. We put our customers first, are willing to learn and grow, are problem solvers, work with urgency, ensure data security is a priority, project management effectively, maintain a professional community and work as one team. 

The Problems You’ll Solve 

  • How can we deliver a more streamlined Pre-Close customer journey?
  • What processes can we implement to improve alignment across IS teams? 
  • How can I provide more leverage to the Pre-Close Director? 
  • How can we improve reporting/team metrics? 
  • How can we further engage emerging managers during this phase of their growth? 
  • What can we do to set a positive tone for customers’ at the beginning of their Carta experience? 

The Impact You’ll Have

Our goal is to provide a seamless client experience for emerging managers while fostering a positive and confident first impression of Carta as a whole. In this role, you will look to further streamline and coordinate Pre-Close team workflows within the broader Investor Services BU, including continued efforts to align processes with the Fund Administration, Implementation, and Sales teams. You will provide leverage to the Pre-Close Director in both client-facing and behind-the-scenes efforts by managing a variety of implementation duties across the Carta platform, SalesForce.com, and the growing set of pre-close resources.  You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with our product, engineering, and operation teams, all while growing your foundational knowledge of VC in an engaging, fast-paced environment. 

About You

  • You have experience maintaining, managing and nurturing multiple client relationships
  • You’re energized by identifying and executing on process improvements to gain efficiency  
  • You’re interested in providing best-in-class-service
  • You’re familiar with the process of establishing and maintaining a fund within a Venture Capital firm, including the mechanics of capital calls/distributions, quarterly and annual fund deliverables, and firm structures
  • You have experience working with a variety of fund documentation, including Operating Agreements, Limited Partnership Agreements, formation certificates, etc. 
  • You are comfortable operating under circumstances with considerable ambiguity 
  • You have experience working within the Carta platform, preferably within Investor Portfolios
  • You have strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • You take pride in your ability to communicate effectively and are able to multitask to meet multiple deadlines 
  • You’re interested in working on projects in a fast-paced environment with a supportive team and as an individual
  • 2+  years of experience in the Venture Capital or Private Equity industry
  • Bonus: Experience implementing systems within SalesForce.com
