We are looking for a Release Manager to join our team. As a Release Manager, you will manage our software release process to ensure high quality and predictable releases. You will work to improve the release process by identifying issues, creating or modifying release processes, documenting release issues and their resolution, and ensuring all needed release steps are completed. A successful candidate will be strong in working with software engineering teams and be very knowledgeable about the entire process.

 As a Release Manager at Xealth, you will:

  • Manage, organize, and direct work for building and maintaining software and infrastructure releases for their promotion through non-production environments, and leading to a production environment deployment.
  • Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully.
  • Manage, organize, and direct releases that comprise of cross-functional teams, and interrelated and independent application and/or infrastructure changes.
  • Manage and drive deployment risk mitigation practices (i.e., back out/contingency planning) for the duration of the release cycle to ensure an organized and successful deployment.
  • Develop and steward the Release Management process, along with meeting SOC2 standards to govern the process.
  • Establish and communicate release expectations, milestones, and release activity progress across all involved teams.
  • Develop and maintain a release management discipline based on experience, best practices, and proven methodologies.
  • Facilitate the execution of staging and production cutovers.
  • Conduct release readiness reviews, deployment planning meetings, and Go/No-Go meetings.
  • Create and own a lessons learned document and drive change to continually improve the release process.
  • Document to ensure that approved entrance/exit criteria artifacts required for production deployment are in place.
  • Identify and resolve problems often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.

Our ideal Release Manager will have

  • 5+ years of experience working in release management field
  • Strong process knowledge Scrum and System Development Life Cycles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Startup or small company experience, or a desire to facilitate deployments and work with small, cross-functional Scrum team
  • Bonus points for knowledge of: HIPAA/ePHI, EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts), applications in a Healthcare IT environment, SQL and/or other scripting skills
