The Axon business is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a dedicated and proven RMS Training & Implementation Manager to join our Customer Implementation Services Team in Axon's Professional Services Organization. You will be a key builder, shaping how we enable and scale the capabilities of our public safety partners as they lead the way to use digital transformation to protect life. The programs that you develop will have an impact on thousands of public safety organizations around the world.
Your Day to Day
Be part of a team that consults with product engineers, program managers, and our clients to build RMS implementation programs that support the successful implementation of Axon records software systems.

  • Partner with our public safety client agencies to understand their business processes, organizational needs, and how our products achieve their digital transformation objectives
  • Design the software testing, training, and delivery approach for our records' customers
  • Serve as an advocate for very diverse client agency needs throughout the project implementation lifecycle
  • Employ your creativity to ideate an approach that is both customized and standardized for agencies with differing ways of serving their communities
  • Partner with SMEs across the company and within the client agencies to chart testing plans, learning assets, deployment schedules and project mitigation solutions that enable our clients to optimize the use of Axon's rapidly developing Records platform
  • Build tools that support our clients to successfully manage and navigate the digital transformation journey within their own agencies
  • Serve as a key advisor and contributor on everything from business requirements definition, to agency communications, and deployment planning
  • Develop internal/external communication plans and communication messages for customers to assist their internal organizational change management efforts
  • Work on the front lines everyday supporting multiple public safety agencies to transform the systems at the core of their daily operations
  • Consult with PMs and clients to track issues, risks, and impacts to their business processes, determine mitigation strategies, and define how to incorporate into training and/or deployment plans
  • Design, develop, deliver, and maintain training strategies, plans, and instructional materials/program deliverables for customer software deployments using effective instructional design methodologies and technologies
  • Ensure consistency of change management in deployment strategy and training approach, implement standard operating processes, and drive continuous improvement within our team
  • Partner with subject matter experts to clearly define learning objectives and content required for training programs
  • Create and maintain project plans to ensure timely delivery of project initiatives
  • Communicate testing plans, training plans, activities, and outcomes to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of product updates, updating content as our products evolve
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Axon Academy on the development of eLearning training assets and delivery via Axon's learning management system
  • Partner with the product engineering teams to assess content, system developments/customizations to maintain testing/training materials, and update for clients as needed
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor program progress
  • Attend and actively contribute to weekly Customer Implementation Services and cross functional team meetings
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and the value of Axon's products, in order to ensure that all training content supports our mission
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in a public safety/law enforcement agency operation or with an RMS software product vendor for public safety agencies
  • 3+ years of experience designing, delivering and/or managing RMS software testing, training, and/or implementation projects
  • Familiarity with ERP project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Experience with government agency change efforts
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Exposure to software development and continuous process improvement processes
  • Proven success in transforming raw content into informative, engaging, and compelling learning experiences
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, internal/external communications, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across teams/functions to deliver results
  • Must be a team player; able to shift priorities as business needs change
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently
  • Travel is required as restrictions are lifted, estimated 70-80% monthly

Preferred Qualifications

  • RMS procurement/RFPs, deployments, configurations, integration, and training
  • Government agency and/or public safety agency experience, law enforcement or emergency dispatch experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with any and/or all of the following:
    • Enhanced 911 (E911)
    • Next Generation 911 (NG911)
    • Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
    • Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)
    • National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Land Mobile Radio (LMR).
    • An understanding of data analytics, mobility, digital logging recorders
    • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • At least 5 years of internal progressive experience in organizational development, facilitation, training, OD process or consulting experience in a mid to large size international software organization
  • Substantial experience supporting organizational or IT business unit level change management initiatives; experience in digital transformation strongly preferred
