About the Position

 The Customer Advocacy role is a new, exciting role that is within the Qumulo Global Marketing Organization. This role was created to champion the customer experience throughout Qumulo. You will be responsible for all aspects of customer assets creation and promotion. You are skilled in making customer stories come to life! 

Writing and storytelling comes naturally to you and is a skill you enjoy exhibiting, leveraging each of the customer stories as fuel for success. In this role, you’ll identify and develop content for customer stories ranging from case studies, external slides, blog posts and filmed narratives. Working collaboratively with the global marketing team, you’ll orchestrate marketing campaigns and strategies with the customer content you’ve created and help raise awareness at various events for spotlighting each of our customers’ use cases. In essence, you are the Chief Customer Evangelist and Marketer!

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented marketing project manager to join our team. As the customer reference project manager, you will be part of a team working with customers, marketers, and sellers across Qumulo, and our marketing agencies to bring our customers' stories of innovation and problem solving to life. We need someone with a true Qumulo mindset, who takes a proactive approach to build relationships, works effectively across organizational boundaries to get the job done, and has a reputation for solving problems creatively and diplomatically.

Responsibilities May include:

  • Representing Qumulo in customer-facing conversations about marketing, AR and PR opportunities.
  • Planning and securing project resources, preparing budgets, and managing marketing agencies as needed in the development of customer story assets such as case studies, videos, and slide-ware.
  • Managing internal and customer reviews of customer story assets.
  • Securing and coordinating customer participation in events such as Customer Advisory Board (CAB), Qumulo Exeq Board, references for internal and external marketing requirements, and customer spotlight events including webinars and podcasts.
  • Monitoring and reporting the status of customer story asset creation, keeping key stakeholders informed.
  • Collaborating with the Qumulo Digital Team and the PR team on the publishing of customer stories on Qumulo.com.
  • Scheduling and leading regular-cadenced sync meetings with customer storytellers and key stakeholders from across Qumulo,, including HQ marketing, field marketing, PR/AR, and more.
  • Creating reports, presentations, and other visuals to summarize customer story results and impact.


A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Customer-obsessed mindset: Experienced in advocating on behalf of the customer and how to effectively balance internal and customer priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding project management skills: Experience planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Manage and organize a library of up-to-date customer success stories.
  • Partner with the global sales and marketing team, creating impactful campaigns with customer social proof to drive more leads, conversions and upsells - both inbound and outbound.
  • Develop a set of goals and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of customer content and campaigns.
  • Be ready to support the other members in a small but thriving customer advocacy team on references (requests and tools), customer advisory events and other engagement programs.
  • Technical acumen: Demonstrated understanding of the Qumulo technology. Ability to understand customer use cases and provide meaningful guidance and input on customer story content.
  • Cross-org experience: Expertise in stakeholder management and history of driving results through collaboration and influence in growing organizations.
  • Influence & problem solving: Strong interpersonal/diplomatic skills, ability to build trust and credibility, and proven ability to solve problems creatively.


Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant tech industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing project management.
  • 1+ years of customer storytelling or other customer-facing roles.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented attitude
  • Thrives in an accountable, metrics-driven environment
  • Have a bias to action and the ability to not only manage but thrive in a fast-paced environment. Highly customer empathetic and flexible in working with a global customer base
  • Experience with content management systems is nice, but not a requirement
