The Role of a Senior Program Manager, Product Development is widely scoped. This person is the single thread leader who will manage the end to end process of delivering the system. This role requires a blend of collaboration, project management, operational execution, technical knowledge, business acumen and an in-depth understanding of all the activities involved in delivering a full solution. This role requires collaboration and partnership with a wide group of stakeholders across the Company. A successful candidate will be able to play an integral role in determining strategy, resources, features, schedules, and process for cross-company projects. This leader must have strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to collaborate, influence others and dive deep.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning sessions: successfully plan, manage and execute projects that are cross-functional in nature (Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Electrical) for medical devices
  • Coordinate resources per the delivery plan
  • Produce high level estimates for decision making and detailed project and program Gant charts to manage projects to completion
  • Conduct efficient and yet thorough change management processes to ensure changes to scope and requirements are known, captured and escalated appropriately for impact and decision making related to all changes.
  • Monitor project performance to understand impacts to Cost, Schedule, and Performance
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines
  • Actively prioritize deliverables within a project: ability to determine critical path amongst cross-functional deliverables
  • Effectively communicate up and down the organization
  • Drive risk mitigation
  • Conduct weekly meetings, drive and track action items
  • Follow our product development process
  • Lead diverse and distributed teams
  • Driving standardization of process and the creation of documentation is a major component of the role.
  • Utilize judgement and domain knowledge to anticipate issues before they block launch,
  • Ability to influence and drive change through a matrixed organization without direct authority, is critical to achieve business objectives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing complex projects with diverse teams in a medical device organization
  • 8+ years working within a technical discipline-preferably in a medical device organization
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ready to tackle any high stress situations
  • Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously
  • Ability to be a leader and be follower as situation demands - a good team player
  • Big-picture thinking, vision, while constantly keeping an eye on execution of the vision
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Driving skills to raise difficult issues/risks and drive decisions/resolutions/action
  • Ability to adapt to diverse working styles
  • Operates from principle of being ‘Trusted Advisor’
  • Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable with change and unknowns
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, relevant ISO, and IEC standards
  • PMP Certification or equivalent nice to have
