What we want you to do:

Broadly, you’d start with two key focus areas. First, take a key leadership role in the daily operation of some of our key projects by operating our current SDLC. Be in the right conversations with the teams to enable forward progress, keep efforts tight and focused on goals, and help drive communications as appropriate for the group. Second, and perhaps more importantly, contribute to the design and implementation of ongoing improvements to our agile/DevOps approach. The best product development process is one that adapts and changes yet maintains manageability, auditability, and predictability for our business.

To illustrate some detailed responsibilities, you will be responsible for delivery of large projects or programs that have multiple workstreams / projects / phases with resources across Apptio teams. You will ensure projects consistently hit planned goals, or proactively drive mitigations with team input and buy-in. You will coach the teams on SDLC implementations including Agile/Scrum.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent demonstrated work experience

• 5+ years of relevant program/project management experience

• Deep understanding of, and experience with, SDLC models.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Running or using Agile/Scrum in a SaaS model

• Crystal clear, unambiguous, precise communicator in spoken and written word

• Proactive, unafraid; happy working across ambiguous responsibility lines

• Lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions

• Take in complex situations, and simply and bring focus for next actions and attention

• A deep understanding of software development and a track record of shipping software on time

• Experience managing a small team of project managers

• Ability to interact with and unite geographically disperse teams

• Slight to nearly pathologically compulsive organizer

• Experience in one or more of the following roles: Developer, Tester, Program Manager
