About the Team and Function: 

The Sr. Risk Manager will be a member of Convoy’s industry-leading Quality & Compliance team, which works to provide our customers with access to a network of safe, reliable, high performing motor carriers who meet our rigorous compliance and quality requirements. Risk, claims, and insurance are an integral responsibility of the team. Specific to the risk management function, through partnerships with various programs we serve as a trusted resource to identify and address risks throughout the business. When applicable, we find effective and desirable methods of risk transfer to unlock Convoy’s ability to sustainably grow its business. 

What You’ll Own:

As a Sr. Risk Manager, you will be a foundational team member responsible to partner with internal programs at Convoy to identify, assess, prioritize, and appropriately manage operational and enterprise risks. You’ll work collaboratively with internal and external partners to find risk solutions and support implementation, execution, and iteration. You’ll partner with Convoy’s legal team to assess and address contractual risk. In addition, you’ll be responsible to renew Convoy’s insurance programs and drive a program road map to incubate innovative insurance and risk finance solutions. You will lead or partner with other team members to reduce incidents of fraud and theft within our transportation operations.

Required Experience:

• 8+ years in commercial insurance or operational/enterprise risk management
• Demonstrable experience in developing and/or implementing Enterprise or Operational Risk Management Frameworks
• Demonstrable experience and subject matter expertise in risk financing to include risk transfer, funded retention by way of reserves (self-insurance) and risk pooling.
