Our mission is to build software that creates understanding between people. Textio’s category-defining augmented writing platform has already transformed the way that thousands of companies write and hire, and we’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to join us!

The Technical Program Manager team is responsible for designing the systems and frameworks for the R&D team to ship features and products. We define and implement a "goldilocks" amount of process: just enough to solve a defined problem, and no more. We're constantly observing and evaluating the flow of work through the system to identify and address inefficiencies.

Our day-to-day charter is to simplify the complex. We partner with Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to deliver several projects simultaneously. We build using the "squad model", which consists of cross-department, autonomous teams who center on building a solution to a well-defined problem. We recognize when work is exceeding appetite and collaborate with the team to adjust plans and identify acceptable scope changes. We serve as an empathic, supportive, and driving force to plan, build, and ship code in a systematic way.

We balance this love of execution with a genuine curiosity about the Textio business. We establish and invest in relationships across the company to support this comprehensive understanding. It's not enough to know if we can build and ship a feature, it's equally crucial to understand the expected business impact and bring that insight to day-to-day tradeoff decisions.

TPMs are the ultimate generalists. We work fluidly, using a systems thinker perspective, to help solve a wide variety of problems. We're energized by moving from a rough idea to a concrete problem statement, to the shipped solution.

Would you like to create something new that truly impacts how people connect with each other? If so, Textio is an excellent place to work, learn, and grow.

In this role you will:

Use your organization, prioritization, and communication skills to work closely with partners across the entire Textio team including R&D, Revenue, CCG to build and ship products

Move fluidly between high-level strategy considerations and nitty-gritty building details to ensure that, as a team, we're informed, aligned, and executing

Recognize dependencies and hidden complexities at various altitudes: in projects and across the company, and in long-term roadmaps and immediate day-to-day tasks

Exercise judgment to evaluate not only if a project is on time and within scope, but also recognize when new information surfaces questions and potentially adjust the execution plan

Identify issues and remove hurdles proactively, before they disrupt the team, often before people knew the problem existed

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have deep experience collaborating with teams across the company to ship products that people pay for, ideally within early to mid-stage startups
  • Have demonstrated experience mapping ambiguous feedback into clear executable plans for R&D teams
  • Are committed to quality as a top priority—you pay attention to what you make and take pride in your craft
  • Are excited to grow the team and mentor team members
  • Have a track record that demonstrates a love of experimenting, building, and learning new things
  • Have a point of view but are low ego

At Textio, you will be part of a wonderful team of people who work together to build breathtaking, groundbreaking experiences for our customers.
