The Expedia Security Engineering team delivers security compliance and governance across BEXG, so our travelers can use our products with confidence and trust, and ensures that our engineering teams have the expertise, tools and data they need to develop their products to the highest security standards. We actively partner across Expedia Group to ensure BEXG is on the front-foot in addressing vulnerabilities and compliance challenges, and work with teams across the full range of technologies in our cloud and data center environments. The role of Security Engineering is to actively ensure that our customers and our systems are protected, by developing innovative centralized technology solutions to compliance and security challenges.

The Activities We Deliver Include

  • Security Architecture Reviews, to help teams actively anticipate and model threats and improve their design practices
  • Identifying and enabling vulnerability resolution through code and configuration improvements
  • Developing our internal tools to provide visibility into the status of the environment and to integrate security into the platforms our development teams are using
  • Drive programs across BEX to ensure we can demonstrate our compliance with PCI, SOX, GDPR and other industry standards

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM). As a TPM, you will consult and support systems and solutions that help detect and prevent fraudulent activity and security violations on Expedia's brands. You will help deliver in one of the best security and technology organizations in the world, ensuring our data, systems, partners and customers are secured with the best standards and technology solutions.

You will define and drive projects from conception to release. You will work closely with product management, business partners, engineering teams and leadership across organizations. Your role will require coordination across teams, product planning and risk assessment. You will be responsible for driving engineering practices and balancing delivery timelines with technical constraints, all in an agile development environment.

What you'll do:

  • Work independently to drive a diverse set of activities, initiatives, & projects by building relationships, crafting timelines, clarifying requirements, and improving process
  • You will guide company-wide process for security review of all newly developed products and features
  • You will act as a security liaison for agile Product Owners and Scrum Masters; advocate for sprint teams to properly prioritize security requests
  • You will track and properly communicate status, risks with resolution plans, upcoming landmarks, and achievements and with technical and leadership teams
  • You will serve as the program management ambassador for your team(s) in multi-functional programs
  • You will participate in and influence decision-making with corporate security and governance teams.
  • You will facilitate coordination and road-map sync between product and development teams.

Who you are:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in security engineering and/or software development required, 5+ is preferred; however, all equivalent experience will be considered
  • Experience with AWS technology and tools.
  • Enthusiastic about recognizing and taking advantage of opportunities for continuous improvement; able to evolve process and standards according to technology and business trends
  • High level of initiative, passion, and desire to continuously hold high expectations
  • Deep understanding IT server and/or network infrastructure, security standards, risk and incident management, and enterprise-level compliance
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with specific strength when presenting complex concepts to highly technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable presenting to large internal groups and leadership team members
  • Willingness to provide feedback in challenging situations
  • Actively displays self-awareness; promotes a team culture that embraces openness and participation
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or comparable work experience required
