Role Description

Givebutter is hiring a Sales Development Representative! As the first point of contact for many of our prospective nonprofit customers, you’ll play a critical role in driving the growth of our sales pipeline by generating and qualifying leads. This role is perfect for someone passionate about tech for good, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and is excited about helping mission-driven organizations succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research ideal nonprofit prospects using tools like LinkedIn, HubSpot, and other databases

  • Conduct outbound outreach via email, phone, and social channels to connect with potential clients

  • Qualify inbound leads and schedule discovery calls for Account Executives

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support campaign execution and lead nurturing

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM (HubSpot)

  • Continuously optimize outreach strategies based on performance metrics and feedback

  • Stay informed about Givebutter’s features, customer stories, and the nonprofit fundraising space

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales or outreach role (SaaS or nonprofit tech is a plus)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire to learn, adapt, and continuously improve qualification and sales skills.

  • Skillful in managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and a high-volume workload.

  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and a drive to exceed targets

  • Ability to work effectively with other team members, including the marketing, customer success, and sales teams.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with experience using a CRM

  • Passion for social impact and supporting nonprofit organizations

  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative environment

Interview Process

Below is a high-level outline of our standard interview process

  1. Recruiter Screen: A 30-minute conversation to learn more about your background, walk through the role, and ensure mutual alignment on expectations, values, and logistics.

  2. Hiring Manager Interview: A deeper dive into your relevant experience, skillset, and working style. This is your first opportunity to connect directly with the person who may be your future manager.

  3. Assessment (technical or non-technical): This stage will vary based on the role. It could involve a live coding session, case study, or take-home project. Some roles may include two parts to this stage to evaluate both practical skills and problem-solving approaches

  4. Values Interview: A conversation with team members focused on how you align with our core values and leadership principles.

  5. References: We connect with a few folks you’ve worked closely with to get a better picture of your working style and impact.

  6. Offer: If all goes well, we’ll move to the offer stage!
