The Team You’ll Work With
The Site Reliability Engineering team (SRE) at Carta is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and resiliency of the Carta app and other production systems in various environments. The team has expertise in systems architecture and design, infrastructure automation using Terraform, AWS and Kubernetes. In addition, the SRE team collaborates closely with the Information Security team on defining secure network boundaries and implementing security policies.
The Problems You’ll Solve
- Own the availability, scalability and reliability of Carta's mission-critical infrastructure
- Lead and grow a globally distributed team of SREs while investing in personal growth and development
- Be the face and champion of SRE culture by holding blameless learning reviews, providing education and training, encouraging automation and driving adoption of SLOs across the entire organization
- Partner with both technical and non-technical leaders throughout the company to ensure that their infrastructure needs are being met
- Build and own relationships with our key vendors to ensure alignment with our mission
About You
You have 5+ years of experience leading an SRE or similar team. You've been responsible for managing complex production systems and growing multiple globally distributed teams. Our stack today includes AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CircleCI, Jenkins, Datadog and gRPC but we value experience with similar technologies. You've worked in a monolithic environment and have felt the pain as organizations grow. Ideally you've helped transform that same environment to microservices. You understand that technology is only a piece of the puzzle so you enjoy collaborating with others to help solve their problems. Those problems are usually lofty, complicated and ambiguous which is why your communications skills are honed and effective. You are extremely mission driven and are as excited about 0 to 1 projects as you are 1 to n.
