International Partnerships Manager, MENA
JOB SUMMARY

Code.org® is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We are looking for an International Partnerships Manager to join our team!
As an International Partnerships Manager at Code.org, you will support Code.org’s outreach efforts in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through the development and management of our international partnerships. We are looking for an experienced program manager with a passion for computer science education and global partnership management and communication strengths.
What you'll do:
- Represent Code.org in MENA, serving as a liaison for our external partners in the region and strengthening that network by establishing new partnerships to help achieve our goals.
- Serve as the MENA subject matter expert within Code.org by providing timely insight, feedback, and field implementation of our top international strategies and priorities.
- Work with all relevant Code.org teams to meet the needs of our MENA partners and implement our international strategies and programs for the maximum regional and local impact in MENA, including:
- Manage a rhythm of engagement between Code.org and local partners in MENA to provide guidance and content to drive excellence in programmatic execution, including:
- Drive awareness and demand for CS education
- Improve CS education curricula available to students and teachers in a way that is equitable and locally relevant
- Support partners’ public policy goals by exerting Code.org’s global thought leadership
- Help partners to build the capacity of teachers by providing support for their professional development programs.
- Vetting and onboarding new partners
- Handle existing international relationships
- Hosting partner events in the region to share the CS community’s approach to best practices for K-12 CS and educate partners on Code.org’s approach to curriculum, professional learning, scaling CS, localization, and policy development
- Developing collateral to support international partners using existing Code.org materials
As our ideal candidate, you:
- Have experience in and an understanding of computer science and K-12 education
- Have experience in and the skills for handling complex projects and relationships
- Have advanced organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Are experienced and proficient at using Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Are highly detailed, and have outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills
- Have 5+ professional years of experience in any of these areas: international development, education, public affairs, international relations
- Have 2+ years of experience developing and running international programs
- Are able and willing to travel internationally and domestically up to 20% of the time (required)
- Have the flexibility to adjust working hours to take international calls in the morning/evening (required)
- Are bilingual in Arabic and English (required)
We also prefer candidates who also:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Have experience working with educators and educational systems strongly preferred
- Have experience working independently with a geographically dispersed team
- Have the ability to speak French
In addition, candidates:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
WHAT IS THE INTERVIEW PROCESS LIKE?
Step 1: Informational Interview - learn more about the role and share your experience (~30 minutes)
Step 2: Homework (~2 hours)
Step 3: Interviews with several members of the Code.org team (~ 3 hours)
Step 4: Final Interview + Meet & Greet with 2-3 members of the Code.org team (~1 hour)
Step 5: Reference Checks
