Senior Manager, Business Development Retail Partnerships

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to join Expedia Group as a Sr. Manager, Business Development for our Retail Partnerships business based out of Seattle, Dallas or Austin. This role sits within the Retail Partnerships Americas team.

 

You will be responsible for helping to define, develop, and acquire new business for our growing portfolio of Expedia Group partnerships to drive the next level of growth of Expedia, Vrbo & Hotels.com brands focusing mainly on the US market. Examples of partners are major banks, transportation providers, etc.

 

The Global Retail Partnerships team has recently formed with the objective of driving growth through the development of key partnerships for Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. This team will drive our strategic priorities such as new customer segments and/or key sectors.

 

What you'll do:

 

You will be responsible for defining our partnership strategy, sourcing, pitching, and negotiating new strategic partners, as well as collaborating with other teams to execute business development initiatives.

This is a hugely entrepreneurial and strategic role that encompasses:

  • Identifying and prioritizing new partners who can meet Expedia Group’s objectives

  • Developing partnership proposals including discovering objectives, defining partnership requirements, and developing value propositions

  • Developing a business case

  • Working with Product Development, Data Engineering, and Operations functions to define partner/tool requirements; in parallel, identifying improvement opportunities and new use cases

  • Negotiating commercial terms and driving contractual agreement in coordination with legal counsel; supported by the Director Retail Partnerships, AMERICAS

  • Working cross-functionally with internal teams to implement a partnership

 

Who you are:

 

We are looking for a self-starter who has the energy, influence, and people skills to build and service strategic partnerships.

  • Experience in consultative sales, building partnerships, market/business development, account management, and/or business start-up including independently leading complex negotiations end-to-end

  • Data-driven and result oriented

  • Collaborator who does what is best for the organization not personal gain

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience and/or familiarity with affiliate marketing

  • Excellent internal and external partner management and people skills

  • Exceptional persuasion, and influencing skills

  • Dedicated, high-energy, creative, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success

  • Strong business sense, problem-solving, and business case building

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus

  • Ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment and work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
