Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
- Join a world class global sales compensation team focusing on improving our sales team experience with commissions
- Lead and improve upon the global commissions exception process end to end;
- including building a team of sales compensation analysts (globally), implement a sales request tool in our current commissions processing tool, research exceptions and present finding to compensation committee when necessary
- Use previous experience and knowledge of the sales compensation plans to make decisions on whether exceptions should be approved; be able to articulate finding and decisions to sales leadership
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Operations and Finance regarding sales compensation exceptions
- Oversee monthly/quarterly exception reporting to be presented to sales ops leadership and other stakeholders
- Partner closely with Varicent admin/IT teams to identify root cause for exceptions and project manager and adjustment to system logic to prevent further exceptions with similar root cause
- Work with Global Sales Compensation Director on ad hoc process or product changes/impact that require a change to the commissions calculation or configuration
- Develop a strong understanding ServiceNow compensation plans and the roles that are assigned to them in order to properly assess exceptions from the eyes of the sales team
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will have:
- Understanding of sales compensation and be familiar with how software companies go-to-market
- 7+ years in sales operations, compensation, finance with a software company
- Project management skills and ability to partner across functional areas (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations, and HR)
- Experience with Varicent SPM or similar tool
- Experience with Dynamics or similar tool
- Experience with ServiceNow platform
- Attention to detail in reviewing the work of others (i.e UAT testing, process review)
A strong candidate will have:
- Knowledge of sales compensation design methodology is desirable
- Highly analytical, fact driven, and process orientated mindset
- Ability to conduct meaningful analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable messages and deliverables
- Thrives in fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment to drive results
- Ability to challenge the status quo and develop mindshare to drive towards a common goal
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information that can be easily consumed by various executive audiences

Work personas are categories that are assigned to employees depending on the nature of their work. Employees will fall into one of three categories: Remote, Flexible or Required in Office.
Required in Office
A required in office work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office. This persona is required to work from their assigned workplace location 100% of the work week based on the business needs of their role.
Flexible
A flexible work persona is defined as an employee who is contracted to work from or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office and will work from their assigned workplace location roughly 3 days/week or less (generally around 40-60% of the work week). Flexible employees may choose to work the remaining working time from their workplace location or home. Flexible employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
Remote
A remote work persona is defined as an employee who performs their responsibilities exclusively outside of a ServiceNow workplace and is not contracted or aligned to a ServiceNow-affiliated office, including those whose place of work (pursuant to their terms and conditions of employment) is their home. Remote employees are required to work within their state, province, region, or country of employment.
