The Groupon Partner Network (GPN) is Groupon’s affiliate program, focused on helping online publishers and developers deliver compelling offers to their users through the promotion of Groupon deals. Our team recently expanded the program beyond pure affiliate marketing into a broader channel tasked with maximizing the distribution of Groupon offers through international businesses. As a result, we are entering a period of unprecedented productivity and growth, which means our team is transforming.

 

Strategic Partnerships Managers are the go-getters of the GPN, establishing and championing sustainable distribution partnerships with large local, national, and multinational brands. You will have the autonomy to ‘act like it’s your business’: we trust our teammates to prioritize accounts, negotiate complex offers, and craft compelling offer structures to further our team’s business goals.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Prospect new accounts by contacting, consulting with, and closing deals through established networks, relationships, independent research, and the lead management pipeline

  • Define, size, and prioritize affiliate partnership opportunities

  • Use consultative selling strategies and knowledge of deal structure to reach merchants’ desired outcomes and maximize profit

  • Work with Merchant teams post-close to ensure a smooth transition of accounts and align on merchant strategy

  • Drive market growth for both quality of merchants and revenue

  • Successfully negotiate key business and legal terms with senior-level counterparts, and partner with business, product, and engineering teams to define and implement new product features required to deliver on key partnerships

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience sourcing, negotiating, closing, and activating strategic partnerships within the digital marketing and/or e-commerce space

  • You have a track record of defining new categories of partnerships for a company, and securing lighthouse customers to pioneer new business

  • You are a clean and logical thinker, with strong instincts - informed by a combination of smarts and experience

  • You have a passion to win, and an unwillingness to settle

  • You have an analytical mind, with the potential to retain and utilize numbers to make objective decisions

  • You have a strong bias for action, combined with a proven history of delivering results

  • You’re polished yet scrappy, entrepreneurial, self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively. Ready for the demands of a high energy, fast-paced company environment

  • You have a demonstrated ability to build and mentor a partner development team

  • Experience in global e-commerce company preferred

  • Experience closing deals with large entities, for example Airlines, OTA’s, Hotels, e-commerce companies, and big publishers is a plus
