The UX Research Account Sales Lead Role

AnswerLab is looking for an experienced and versatile Account Sales Lead to join our strategy team. The UX Research Account Sales Lead will have a substantial impact on clients and will support opportunity level sales responsibilities for clients, or teams within a client.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Client Management

  • Support and grow a portfolio of approximately $3-4M in UX Research with a set of our technology, platform, and e-commerce clients
  • Regularly meet with clients to strengthen and deepen our client relationships
  • Write statements of work and proposals to address clients needs and maintain profitability
  • Develops deep industry (technology, platform, and e-commerce) and client-specific expertise and proactively apply this knowledge to opportunities
  • Own the tactical portion of the relationship that could involve responding to client accounting questions, maintaining databases, overseeing regulatory compliance etc.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients for long term planning
  • Lead AnswerLab capabilities presentations
  • Recommend programs of research to clients based on deep research expertise
  • Build account plans in partnership with cross-functional AnswerLab leadership to target new and grow existing clients

Networking

  • Participate in events, conferences, and industry related networking opportunities
  • Opens new relationships with technology and research industry contacts and leverages those relationships for meetings and referrals
  • Regularly spends time with clients through kickoff calls, scoping meetings, readouts, and check-in meetings

Business Management

  • Own opportunity updates in Salesforce and ensure accuracy
  • Ensure all calls, meetings, and tasks are documented in Salesforce
  • Compile and organize the quarterly account planning documents

AnswerLab Development

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity to improve AnswerLab – such as new efficiencies, process improvements, ways to better serve clients, and build the AnswerLab brand
  • Be a role model to team members on AnswerLab core values 
  • Strong, proactive collaborator with colleagues, advising and mentoring on UX research methods

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We understand that outstanding candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds. While specific experience is important, we are ultimately looking for candidates who have the personal characteristics to thrive in a growing client-focused business. The ideal candidate will likely meet many or most of the job criteria listed below.

  • 5+ years of experience in the UX research field or market research field (specifically related to research design)
  • Experience working in the user experience industry or a related research field 
  • Ability to engage effectively with business and research managers in Fortune 500 companies
  • Exhibit robust expertise in selling UX or Market Research studies independently
  • Passion for user experience and digital products
  • Has actively worked on building a book of business and been required to maintain business levels and seek opportunities for growth
  • Has experience proactively reaching out to new accounts and growing them to a significant size
  • Proven experience with building strong business and personal relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Experience in Account Management a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
