The Role

 

The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for leading the company’s strategic partnerships. Informed by a deep understanding of the technology and sales engagement landscape, she / he will have a keen understanding of Outreach’s competitive market and financial position. As an integral member of the leadership team, the VP of Business Development will work closely with the company’s COO to define and develop goals and objectives, along with the associated partnership strategy. 

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close strategic deals such as acquisitions, investments, JVs, and other partnerships in an aggressive time frame
  • Develop business models to analyze deals and performance
  • Drive the relationship building process at multiple levels between partners and Outreach
  • Work with our internal teams to ensure organizational understanding of partner requirements
  • Build and manage a process for effective partnership due diligence (business and technical)
  • Synthesize multiple sources of information to develop a coherent understanding of market opportunities, emerging customer needs, and the competitive landscape
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, including long-term projects as well as opportunistic transactions

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Business Development experience
  • Prior experience with partnerships ranging from Fortune 100 to strategic relationships with fast growing start-ups
  • Proven track record of qualifying, scoping, and closing revenue generating partner programs
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver on key milestones
  • Outstanding ability to establish and maintain a strong deal pipeline
  • Skilled at structuring and negotiating complex partnerships
  • Experience defining strategic long-term organizational goals
  • Enthusiastic willingness to roll-up-your-sleeves and do whatever it takes
  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership
  • Strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, and highly collaborative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous growth stage company experience is beneficial
  • MBA strongly preferred
