The Senior Software Engineer will enhance Swan's financial core, architect and design financial systems, integrate ledgering technologies, and ensure high-quality code and documentation.

Swan is enhancing and rebuilding its financial core to support a quickly growing business. You will join our core team, which builds and improves Swan’s core ledgering systems as well as its other core APIs for its web and mobile products. Here’s what you might be involved in day to day:
- Architecting and designing data models and systems related to financial ledgering
- Integrating open source and commercial ledgering, reconciliation, accounting, and reporting systems
- Diagramming and documenting complex financial systems and flows
- Reducing complexity through refactoring, modularization, and simplification
- Senior level experience with SQL, data modeling, REST APIs, event driven systems, etc
- Experience at a bank, trust company, fintech, or other financial institution
- At least 5 years of total software development experience, with at least 2 years at a financial institution or fintech
- Commitment to great architecture, clean code, unit testing, and excellence in documentation
- Well developed opinions on software architecture and principles of development in high scale systems
- Experience with NodeJS is preferred, but senior level experience in any similar environment works
- AWS experience is a big plus
- Strong desire to self-organize work and demonstrated history of high bandwidth communication in a fully remote company
- Adept with modern AI tooling and ready to deliver quickly
- US timezones only
- Compensation for this role will be based on location and experience, and may include base salary, equity, and benefits
Remote pay range (based on location and experience)
$100,000—$200,000 USD
