  • Client Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Engineering to translate complex client requirements into tailored data engineering solutions utilizing GCP's data capabilities (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow) or Snowflake.
    • Engage in on-site client meetings and workshops as needed to facilitate collaboration and understanding.
  • Proposal Development: Contribute to the development of compelling proposals, levels of effort, and Statements of Work (SOWs) that clearly define project scope, data pipelines, and implementation plans.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey.
  • Technical Leadership: Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and translate that knowledge into practical solutions for clients.
  • Best Practices: Actively promote the adoption of best practices and a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of learning and development, encouraging team members to pursue certifications, training, and professional growth opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a technical architect or senior engineering role, preferably with a data engineering focus in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Data Engineering Expertise: Proven experience in designing, building, and managing complex data pipelines on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
  • Data Concepts: Strong understanding and ability to advise clients on data engineering concepts such as data governance and controls, MDM, data quality, security, and lineage management.
  • Architecture Design: Ability to architect data estates for clients, advise them on the choice of data architectures, and link them to overall enterprise architecture.
  • AI/ML Integration: Ability to collaborate with Data Science teams to provide the right data scaffolding for the creation and consumption of AI/ML models. High-level understanding of emerging AI/ML and data science concepts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of data management principles, including data warehousing, data lakes, and ETL/ELT processes. Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, SQL) and data processing tools. Preferred experience with DBT and Oracle.
  • Performance Optimization: Understanding and ability to advise clients on detailed architecture design principles, e.g., approaches to improving query performance in Google BigQuery or Snowflake.
  • Communication & Presentation: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and enthusiasm.
  • Client Engagement: Experience working directly with clients in a pre-sales or consulting role, understanding their business needs and translating them into data-driven solutions.
  • Project Deliverables: Ability to specify the deliverables of services projects by developing detailed project scopes of work (SOWs); assist sales team with preparedness and delivery of technical presentations, estimations, and Statements of Work.
  • Deployment Experience: Experience strategizing, designing, architecting, and leading the deployment of scalable solutions on GCP is preferred.
  • Consulting Acumen: Proven experience serving as a technical and business consultant to clients before, during, and after implementations.
