We are looking for a HubSpot Solution Engineer to join our team! You will work directly on our Tech Team and collaborate with our Services teams to design, document, and support technical implementations across the HubSpot platform and connected systems. This is a client-facing role focused on pre-build planning, solution design, technical documentation, and ensuring feasibility for custom development projects.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong technical foundation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience building and planning HubSpot-centric solutions. You should thrive in discovery and scoping conversations, enjoy documenting technical requirements, and be confident leading conversations with both end users and executives. HubSpot expertise is a must. If you're a systems thinker who loves diving into APIs, building architecture diagrams, and owning documentation from start to finish, we’d love to hear from you.

About You

  • 1-5 years of hands-on experience in HubSpot consulting or custom HubSpot development
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation: requirement docs, data maps, Lucidcharts, system architecture
  • Deep understanding of HubSpot’s CRM architecture, APIs, workflows, limitations, and roadmap
  • Strong verbal communication skills - able to lead discovery calls, present technical solutions, and explain complex ideas clearly
  • Experience assessing technical feasibility across systems, platforms, and integration tools
  • Comfortable working in ClickUp or similar project/task management systems
  • Enjoys system design, solution architecture, and creating order from ambiguity
  • Collaborative - partners closely with consultants, developers, project managers, and delivery leads
  • Strong attention to detail, able to manage timelines and blockers independently
  • Excited by process improvement and scalable documentation practices
  • Bonus Points: Experience with Lucidchart, Postman, and HubSpot developer tools

A Normal Day in This Role:

  • Attend client discovery calls and lead technical scoping conversations
  • Assess technical feasibility of requested solutions and identify edge cases
  • Create and maintain clear documentation: requirement docs, data mappings, architecture diagrams, decision logs
  • Own documentation handoffs to delivery and development teams
  • Review HubSpot instances to recommend object models, automation logic, and API-based configurations
  • Stay current with HubSpot releases and advise clients on new capabilities or workarounds
  • Collaborate with developers to align on build approach and identify blockers early
  • Communicate potential risks or technical limitations to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support client-facing project managers with clarifications, documentation, and technical insights
  • Build scalable templates, checklists, or frameworks to streamline documentation efforts
  • Occasionally contribute to internal solutioning for A8 processes or client escalations

You’ll Excel In This Role If You:

  • Think like a builder but communicate like a teacher
  • Are energized by solving puzzles and mapping out how systems connect
  • Know when to say “that’s not feasible” and when to say “here’s how we could make that work”
  • Prefer to over-document rather than under-spec
  • Are excited by messy client challenges, and love turning chaos into clarity
  • See documentation not as a checkbox, but as a core deliverable in the client experience

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
