Job Description:

Job Summary

This is a senior level position in application/system engineering. Responsibilities include defining analog IC products, developing and debugging reference circuits, writing datasheets and application/design notes, and providing application support and technical training.

Essential Functions

  • Work with design engineers, field applications team, and marketing to define new products in cloud computing power solutions for CPU, GPU, ASIC, and SOC.

  • Develop application reference circuits and system level power management solutions for Data Center/AI applications.

  • Hands-on lab bench evaluations, system and board level debugging, and prototype demonstrations.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support existing products and drive new product development.

  • Write datasheets, application notes, design notes and papers in magazines and conferences to promote MPS products.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Education: MSEE or higher is required

  • 5+ years of hand-on experience in switch mode power supply designs especially in multi-phase core power design. Familiar with lab tools like oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, e-loads, frequency analyzer, etc.

  • Prior work experience in high power/high current multi-phase products is highly preferred, proven problem-solving capability

  • Experience with simulation tool like Simplis, Maxwell, Icepak, ect is preferred

  • Experience in PCB design/layout is plus

  • Fluent communication skills in English

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated

  • San Jose, CA or Kirkland, WA

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in Washington is $130,000 - $170,000. The base salary range for this position in California is $140,000 - $180,000.
