We are seeking a skilled Payments Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing payment processing costs by analyzing, strategizing, and implementing efficient payment routing solutions. Additionally, the candidate will negotiate with payments providers to secure favorable terms and rates.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current payment processing systems and identify opportunities for optimization to reduce costs.
- Develop and implement strategies to route payments through the most cost-effective gateways and processors.
- Monitor payment performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Partner with Sourcing and Legal to provide information that help Dropbox negotiate contracts and terms with payments providers to secure competitive rates and favorable terms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and product, to implement payment optimization strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to payment processing.
- Troubleshoot payment processing issues and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
- Provide regular reports and updates on payment processing performance and cost savings initiatives to management.
- Manage user entitlements in payment processor portals, authorized signatories, and support merchant account maintenance
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience
- Proven experience in payments operations, finance, or a related field.
- Must have owned KPIs and report them to leadership
- Must have experience working in companies that manage subscriptions
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of payment processing systems, gateways, and providers.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the payments industry.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Experience working side by side with engineering teams
- Experience working with payment gateways, processors, or financial institutions.
- Familiarity with payment fraud detection and prevention techniques.
