Blink is looking for an IT Generalist to join our Seattle studio for a 5-month contract. Blink’s Contract IT Generalist will support our staff and clients with their wide range of technology needs. This person will help manage users and system accounts, LAN, WLAN, High-Def IP-based Audio-Visual Technologies, cybersecurity initiatives, and writing technical documents. To be successful in this role you will need to be an expert multi-tasker, skilled at prioritizing tasks based on importance. In addition, this person must have strong communication skills with the ability to patiently work with people from all technology backgrounds.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide onsite support for staff at the Blink Seattle studio while working on remote tickets for employees across the US. 
  • Managing the UX research lab technology for our Seattle studio, this includes setting up streaming capabilities and various software/hardware needs depending on the research study.
  • Creating and updating technical processes and “how-to documents.”
  • Supporting broader IT projects and initiatives when needed.
  • Advocating for users while understanding business goals.

What we are looking for:

  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant field such as helpdesk, basic network administration, and event production.
  • Intimate knowledge of macOS and functional knowledge of Windows administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of remote support tools including RDP, RemotePC, and Chrome Remote Desktop.
  • Experience with all forms of mobile platforms is a plus.
  • A/V tech knowledge: Familiar with IP-based video technologies, i.e., NDI video protocol. Familiar with various audio quality control concepts.
  • Experience using web application services like Zoom, Box, Microsoft 365, Google Workspaces, Slack, etc.
  • Working knowledge of video/streaming systems, including video encoding and processing and applications similar to OBS (Open Broadcast Software).
  • Understands technology constraints/capabilities and can apply that understanding to IT problem-solving.
  • Have patience and empathy for all users. And be happy to take on projects as needed to support the team.

The work details:

  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Contract Duration: May 2024 – September 2024
  • Location: On-site at our Downtown Seattle Studio.
