About the Role

The Central Science team is chartered to discover and build durable capabilities for long-term forecasting and causal impact estimates to promote collaboration of decision-making at Twitch. We support a diverse set of customers including executive leaders, product managers and data analysts. Our work contributes to strategy conversation as well as tactic decisions.

As an Applied Scientist on the Central Science team, you will report to the director of science, work with senior scientists and collaborate with machine learning engineers. You will perform foundational research to understand viewer, creator behavior and growth, transform research findings to durable tools that help leaders and product managers to understand the long term and causal impact of their decisions. You will research machine learning algorithms, build production machine learning pipelines and perform causal analysis. You'll report to the Director of Science in the Central Science and Analytics Team. Our team is based in San Francisco, but we are open to you sitting in Seattle,WA;  Austin,TX; or Irvine, CA.

You Will:

• Contribute to and own a piece of the long-term machine learning vision for Central Science, motivated by the needs of our customers, translating that direction into specific plans.
• Design, prototype and implement Machine Learning (ML) algorithms
• Develop the production data pipelines and ML pipelines on which those algorithms operate
• Work with Senior Scientists and SDEs to build and improve 

You Have:

• M.S. degree (or PhD) and + 3 years experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field
• 2+ years of experience building data solutions or machine learning products
• Experience developing algorithms on top of data pipelines that scale
• Experience writing production quality code on top of a production software toolkit (AWS)

Bonus Points

• Demonstrated software development skills through work experience or submissions to open source projects
• Familiarity with AWS services
