Job Description

The Benchmarking team plays a key role in getting our customers to value. We are specialists in transferring their data accurately into our system, matching their jobs to our benchmarked titles, and facilitating their use of our tools for a friction-less experience.

What You Do:

The Benchmarking team studies and analyzes assigned benchmark jobs by utilizing a defined market pricing methodology. We perform audits of client accounts to determine whether benchmarked jobs have changed significantly from the original evaluation. We work with confidential client data every day while we complete our work, so following data security protocols is a top concern. On occasion we participate in special projects to improve system and services. We support the entire Client Services organization by occasionally helping to balance workload across teams.

Day-in-the-Life: As a Benchmarking Specialist, a typical day may include the following…

  • Analyze job descriptions and translate key tasks, duties, and responsibilities into benchmark jobs
  • Use PayScale standard methodologies to match jobs by title alone
  • Assist clients via email regarding job matching process
  • Assist clients over the phone by reviewing jobs live with the client
  • Provide feedback to PayScale internal teams to improve product and processes.

First Year in Role:

Within 3 months, you will have completed training as a Benchmarking Specialist and will be working on client projects.

Within 6 months, you will have completed match review training and will be troubleshooting with clients live on the phone.

Within 12 months, you will have mastered Benchmarking and Client troubleshooting and will be working on process improvement projects and/or product improvement. Between 6 and 12 months you will also be helping to train any new hires.

Qualifications

Experience:

This is an entry to mid-level position where we have found success with candidates from a variety of backgrounds. A post-secondary education or 2 years of experience working with clients is helpful.

Skills:

  • Strong problems solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Research and data analysis
  • Balancing multiple projects
  • Experience with relational databases is helpful

Tools:

Experience using Salesforce is a plus.
