As a part of our Technology organization, our Consumer Intelligence teams strive to be the voice of the customer in the decisions Groupon makes. We develop and use cutting-edge data technologies and data science algorithms to sift through large amounts of data and distill it into information about our customers' wants and needs. We then integrate these insights into our automated decision-making systems to constantly improve our services.

As a Consumer Intelligence Analyst, you will help manage and optimize Groupon’s customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, retention and reactivation. You will use data and an analytical approach to work with leaders across all computational marketing channels (Email, Push Notifications, Direct, SEM, Display, Mobile and Affiliates), supply teams, and relevance teams to distill massive amounts information into business-defining insights. To be successful, you must excel at building and presenting data solutions in a way that transforms complex insights into digestible formats.

You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Understand business requirements to translate needs into actionable insights harnessing large and diverse complex data sets  

  • Interpret analysis and experiments, present/ communicate findings to partners across the organization

  • Use machine learning to build models that can address areas like user segmentation, churn, affinity, and conversion rates

  • Work with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experimentation

 

​We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative field

  • 2+  years of work experience with a heavy emphasis on data manipulation, data-mining and visualization; e-commerce background preferred

  • 2+ years experience creating end-to-end custom business intelligence solutions including elegant presentations of actionable insights

  • You have an understanding of machine learning topics, supervised/unsupervised modeling and optimization techniques, etc.

  • You’re a fast learner; you love learning new approaches and then rapidly applying them to new problems.

  • You’re a self-starter who can execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
