Job Description

This is a critical opportunity in helping to craft and drive the future success of the company through our platform first strategy. You will also partner closely with our senior leadership to shape and engineer our capabilities such as Enterprise Data Management & Analytics, Data Integration and APIs, DevOps, and Automation, enabling our Code to Customer vision and delighting our customers.

You have an agile mindset and are a proven leader in driving growth using data and machine learning. You will build, lead and mentor an organization of technology professional including analysis, development, automation, and CI/CD engineers across multiple technology stacks and locations. You are a key industry leader and a subject matter authority developing enterprise architecture and connecting data to understand our customer’s unique needs across their journey in navigating F5. You are well versed in Data and MDM practices to integrate with enterprise applications and capabilities towards autonomous development and DevOps culture.

As an upbeat leader you will build integrated partnerships across all areas of F5. You are responsible for defining the mission of your team, inspiring, and motivating your team to pursue that mission, and setting strategic goals for them to achieve in that pursuit. Provide a balanced understanding of business and technical objectives and your guidance is sought out because your decisions drive the best outcomes for both. Be responsible for a set of key performance indicators important to the business, and drive outcomes for our business by setting goals against these metrics. Lead cultural change and empower leadership at all levels to build a culture that allows collaboration and innovation to thrive. About You

  • Validated senior leader with a track record of growing teams that deliver significant impact in high growth companies
  • Authoritative knowledge of technology trends and leading engineering practices within Enterprise Data ecosystem, Cloud solutions with Azure/AWS/GCP, API management and governance, and integrations across large systems and COTS applications.
  • Examine the changing landscape and use that information to define platform strategy and prioritize the problems to tackle.
  • Technically proficient and able to work closely and get agreement from product management.
  • Shown success leading a team of high-performing engineers.
  • Experience in SAFe, LeSS or other Agile scaling patterns, practices and methodologies.
  • Responsible for EDW, BI and Analytics functions including deployments, operations, and partnering with vendor products
  • Experience in developing teams and products using DevOps and full stack teams including Continuous Development and Continuous Integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allows you to influence and inspire other teams, create transparency, be inventive and drive focus on sophisticated problems.

  • Navigate challenging team dynamics with tact and confidence as an objective engineering leader

What You'll Do

  • Develop organizational strategy and roadmap for your functional areas and capabilities in working with key partners and groups
  • Lead the Data Platform, Applications, Engineering Excellence and Analytics teams
  • Act as SME on the Data and Integration, lead critical metric development, and drive implementation of the standard methodologies
  • Champion the adoption of standards and APIs on all practices of enterprise integrations
  • Expertise in Data Management and MDM when designing enterprise solutions

  • Develop, lead and mentor robust teams and empower people through active feedback and continuous improvement practices

  • Develop strategies to resolve complex technical, and architectural challenges.
  • 5 or more years hands on experience in developing and supporting EDW solutions; detailed experience with Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and vendor landscape; ability to quickly comprehend the functions, capabilities, and impact of new technologies
  • Collaborate across multiple functions and teams at F5
  • Identify and execute projects focused on eliminating waste and delay, reduce cost and accelerate delivery of customer value

How do you qualify?

  • Bring 15+ years of experience in technology, software development, and process improvements with demonstrated ability to attract, retain, build, grow and develop premier teams.
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or other technical degree, MBA is a plus or equivalent experience.
  • Experience integrating and building data and analytics solutions on cloud, developing teams and solutions for DevSecOps, and driving Engineering excellence across all teams
  • Experience building, maintaining, and operating 24x7 software-based services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience partnering with multiple geographies, including leading multiple teams
  • Experience leading or partnering with product teams, across multiple products and value streams.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering styles, practices, and methods, including multiple pair programming styles.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA), including microservices and containerization
