Job Overview:

As Director of Data Engineering for Enterprise DataWarehouse (EDW) for Coupang's Data platform team, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams of engineers globally to enable business insights. A successful candidate will have an established background in BigData, Datawarehouse, Business Intelligence, wide variety of data based systems on/off Cloud, distributed systems and large scale data processing. You will hire and lead Datawarehouse teams globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide talented Enterprise Data warehouse team to support internal and external data intelligence products.
• Work closely with feature engineering, data science and business teams to lead the planning, execution and success of company wide initiatives.
• Develop Coupang.com’s BigData processing teams to scale 10X for future.
• Define long term strategy and vision for Coupang datawarehouse team to wow customers, develop and communicate goals and roadmap.
• Ability to Communicate effectively to all levels of the Company, including senior leadership and executives.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering's team by giving guidance on designs and coding.
• Hire world class talent and provide career development guidance, and mentoring to team members.
• Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leaders in the team as a hands-on manager.
• Advocate and influence data engineering best practices across the company.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of managing engineering teams
• 10+ years of experience designing, building, maintaining, and upscaling large scale data platform components like BigData DW, Enterprise Datawarehouse and Data Lakes.
• 5+ years of experience building large-scale batch and real-time cloud based distributed data systems to provide low latency delivery of high-quality data
• 5+ Years of experience on data processing platforms & tools like Hadoop, Hive, RedShift, Cloudera, Azure DW, Spark, Airflow, Presto or other large-scale distributed data processing systems.
• Experience in data modelling to meet large scale requirements.
• Experience to model large data scale datasets using file based topology.
• Strong communication skill with team member, stakeholder, and managers
• Experience in SQL or similar languages and development experience in at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, etc.)
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical field

Preferred:

• Experience in Machine learning platform and systems. Experience to work with global offices.
