Who we are:

Rover.com connects pet parents with the nation’s largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers. On Rover, pet parents can easily discover, book, and manage personalized care for their dogs - including pet sitting, dog walking, and doggy day care. Founded in 2011 on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the unconditional love of a dog, Rover improves and simplifies life for pet parents and the dogs they live.

We're headquartered in downtown Seattle. We're an agile, fast-growing startup, and our leadership comes from some of the country's most respected tech companies. For the past three years we have been nominated as one of Seattle's "Best Places to Work" by Seattle Business Magazine, and celebrated awards in 2016 and 2017 by Seattle Met magazine and the Puget Sound Business Journal. Needless to say (but we're going to say it anyway)—we love dogs, and we wouldn't dream of going to work without them by our sides.

Who we're looking for:

The Manager, Operations Analytics is an operationally focused, analytically minded motivator of people. The role will manage a team of fast-paced Business Analysts that support a large portion of our non-technical teams including customer service and operations teams such as Customer Experience, Fraud and Trust & Safety that provide time-sensitive service and support for pets, owners & sitters on the platform. Business Analysts regularly dig deep into huge sets of customer, sitter, operations, and market-level data, then emerge with clear business narratives and recommendations. Specific areas of ownership include business capacity planning, defining and iterating on key metrics for success within operations, and the development and maintenance of data abstractions to support self-serve data stores. Business analysts are also a source of thought leadership, strategy, and mentorship for colleagues across the organization seeking to develop their analytical skills.

The Manager is responsible for prioritizing, and focusing a group of extremely high performers. They have an uncanny ability to provide and teach business narrative; they set an example for their team in how to derive actionable insights from data; and have a demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies within our infrastructure and process. When the number of analytics requests outpaces the resources at hand, they excel at identifying and prioritizing the highest impact work. Most importantly, they will mentor and guide the team to distill their work into an easily digestible narrative that can be shared with the broader business.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead, managing a high-performance team of business analysts
  • Manage prioritization, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives for team
  • Identify areas of opportunity to provide scalable data solutions to emerging business needs and drive solutions forward
  • Partner with diverse cross-functional teams including engineering and data infrastructure to ensure efficient flow of actionable information
  • Identify opportunities for strategic testing, execute tests and share out actionable results
  • Interface regularly with senior operations leadership to share insights and deliver recommendations

Your Qualifications:

  • 5 years business experience in Analytics
  • 2+ years management experience (preferably with teams 2 - 5 individuals)
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. Periscope, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience working side-by-side with integrated teams of developers, analysts, product managers, and operators as an embedded service partner
  • Strong background in data-informed decision-making with rigorous split testing
  • Operations experience preferred
  • Strong technical and coding skills preferred

Why we'll hire you:

  • You have a demonstrated track record of servant leadership. You care deeply about your people, and their careers
  • You’re a deeply analytical thinker who is passionate about finding structure in data, and using data to drive real value to the end user (and thus the business).
  • You are passionate about our core business. You will instinctively dig into every aspect of what it means to be a pet sitter and a pet owner on the Rover platform.
  • You can drive decisions with (imperfect) data and abstractly defined problems
  • You are a great partner to engineers and business owners alike
  • You can pitch your own ideas and shepherd them through to completion
  • You show a pattern of being self-started, self-taught and self-directed
  • You favor open communication with willingness to ask and answer questions
  • You are output- and outcome-oriented
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You play nicely with others (and dogs)

Benefits for Working at Rover.com:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 401k
  • Stock options
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)
  • Doggy benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog
  • Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs)
  • Free catered lunches twice a month
  • Regular team activities, including happy hours, snow tubing, game nights, and more
  • 50 free dog walks a year (Seattle only - for now!)
