The Challenge
Qualtrics is looking for talented business planning leaders as our company grows. The business planning organization plays a central role in developing the long-term monetization strategy for the portfolio of products across XM. We are a data-driven and highly collaborative team of analytical problem solvers and strategic thought leaders, highly skilled at identifying new business opportunities and commercializing product offerings.
As the business planning leader for one of Qualtrics’ largest product lines, you will be responsible for innovating on new business models, growth opportunities, and pricing strategies that balance the short-term and long-term goals of the business. You will drive critical strategic business initiatives that shape the company’s strategy and success, requiring strong cross-team collaboration, project management, creativity, analytics, and the ability to be a leader amongst peers. You will collaborate with product management, marketing, and sales leaders to develop long-term strategy, drive profitability, and guide strategic pricing. You will be viewed as a cross-functional leader, enabling and helping others to understand our monetization strategy and product portfolio. As a key leader in a fast growing environment, you will also identify, propose, and drive new growth initiatives to accelerate our business, shaping long-term company strategy directly with senior executives.
This role requires advanced business strategy acumen as well as thought leadership, strong partnering ability, and execution skills to ensure we develop the right strategy, and business models to enable the commercial success of Qualtrics.
Responsibilities
- Assess the market landscape and adjacencies for opportunities and threats, conduct profit pool analysis and opportunity sizing to identify organic and inorganic (M&A) growth drivers, and champion new strategic business opportunities with senior executives
- Apply industry best practices to inform business model innovation
- Develop long-term commercialization and monetization strategy that will accelerate growth for Qualtrics in collaboration with the product, marketing, and sales leaders
- Price, package, and manage business model and commercialization initiatives in order to enable marketing, sales, and customer success
- Regularly assess business performance, adjusting pricing, packaging, and product portfolio as needed to ensure market relevance and competitiveness
- Leverage and develop financial, customer research, and usage insights to deliver informed decision making
- Example project types include: futurecasting, opportunity sizing, business model analysis, new product commercialization, pricing strategy, and competitive analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; MBA desired
- 10-12+ years of work experience in consulting for or working in the tech industry; at least 3-4 years of experience in an enterprise SaaS pricing or business strategy & operations role
- A track record of being a self-starter, able to independently lead cross-company initiatives
- Excellent communication, problem solving, financial analysis, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in structuring complex analyses in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with analytical tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, spreadsheet software, statistics and/or predictive modeling)
